முதல்வர் பிறந்தநாள் என்ற பெயரில், நேற்று ஆளும்கட்சியினர் நகரின் பல பகுதிகளில் பல்வேறு இடையூறுகளை ஏற்படுத்தினர். வாகன ஓட்டிகள் கடும் அவஸ்தைக்கு ஆளாகினர்.
குரோம்பேட்டையில், ஜி.எஸ்.டி., சாலை, அணுகு சாலையை ஆக்கிரமித்து, அக்கட்சியினர் மேடை அமைத்து நிகழ்ச்சி நடத்தினர். அணுகு சாலையில் மேடையின் முன்பும், பின்பும் போக்குவரத்து துண்டிக்கப்பட்டது. மதியம் 3:00 மணி வரை நிகழ்ச்சி நடந்தது. அதிக போக்குவரத்து கொண்ட, அணுகு சாலையை ஆக்கிரமித்து, மேடை அமைத்ததால், அவ்வழியாக சென்ற வாகன ஓட்டிகள் பெரும் சிரமப்பட்டனர். கார், ஆட்டோ உள்ளிட்ட வாகனங்கள், வழியின்றி வந்த பாதையில் திரும்பி சென்றன. இருசக்கர வாகனங்கள், மாற்று பாதையாக நியூகாலனி வழியாக சென்றன.
சாலையில் மேடை;
திருவள்ளூர் மேற்கு மாவட்ட சிறுபான்மையினர் மற்றும் ஜெ., பேரவை சார்பில், முதல்வர் பிறந்த நாளை முன்னிட்டு, நலத்திட்ட உதவிகள் வழங்கும் நிகழ்ச்சி, பூந்தமல்லியில் நடந்தது. பூந்தமல்லி டிரங்க் சாலை ஓரத்தில் மேடை அமைத்து நிகழ்ச்சி நடத்தினர். சைக்கிள், இஸ்திரி பெட்டி, அரிசி உள்ளிட்ட பொருட்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டன. சிலருக்கு மட்டுமே நலத்திட்ட உதவிகளை, அ.தி.மு.க., நிர்வாகிகள் வழங்கினர்.முக்கிய நிர்வாகிகள் சென்ற பின், பொதுமக்களுக்கு சரியான முறையில் நலத்திட்ட உதவிகள் வழங்கப்படவில்லை. அதனால், மேடையின் கீழ் இருந்த கூட்டத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியினர் மேடையில் ஏறி, கையில் கிடைத்த பொருட்களை சுருட்டினர்.அதை கண்ட கட்சிநிர்வாகிகள், பொருட்களை எடுத்து சாலையில் வீசினர். அவற்றை எடுக்க சாலையில், பொதுமக்கள் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் முண்டியடித்தனர். அதில், பலர்தவறி கிழே விழுந்து காயமடைந்தனர்.
அம்மனை மறைத்த ஆளும்கட்சியினர்:
திருவொற்றியூர் வடிவுடையம்மன் கோவிலில் நேற்று அதிகாலை, மாசி பிரம்மோற்சவத்தின், நிறைவு விழாவான பந்தம்பறி 18 திருநடனம் நடந்து கொண்டிருந்தது. அதற்காக, வெளியூர்களில் இருந்து நேற்று முன்தினம் இரவே பக்தர்கள் குவிந்தனர். அதிகாலையில் உற்சவம் முடிந்த பின், வடிவுடையம்மனை தரிசிக்க காத்திருந்தனர். அந்த நேரத்தில், திடீரென 30க்கும் மேற்பட்ட ஆளும்கட்சியினர், சிறப்பு தரிசனம் செய்ய 100 ரூபாய் செலுத்தி, வரிசையாக சென்று கருவறை முன்பு அதை மறைத்தவாறு நின்று கொண்டனர். அம்மனை தரிசிக்க முடியாமல், வெளியூர் பக்தர்கள் புலம்பியவாறு சென்றனர்.

Sarkaria Commission: Karunanidhi Controversies
He has been indicted by the Sarkaria commission for corruption in allotting tenders for the Veeranam project.
Indra Gandhi dismissed the Karunanidhi government based on charges of possible secession and corruption.
Karunanidhi, the former chief secretary, K.A. Nambiar, and a host of others were arrested in the wee hours of Saturday, on charges of corruption in the construction of flyovers in Chennai. This high handedness of the then incumbent government was deflected by the judicial wisdom and courage of the then principal sessions judge of Chennai, Justice S. Ashok Kumar.
He and his party members where charged under Sections 120b criminal conspiracy, 167 public servant framing an incorrect document with intent to cause injury, 420 cheating and 409 criminal breach of trust of the IPC, and Section 13 2 read with 13 1d of the Prevention of Corruption Act, but no prima facie evidence was found against him and his son M K Stalin.
Ram Setu Remarks
In response to Sethusamudram controversy, Karunanidhi questioned the existence of the Hindu God Ram. He asked
His remarks caused a firestorm of opinions.BJP fore front leader, Ravi Shankar Prasad accused Karunanidhi of religious discrimination when noting "We would like to know from Karunanidhi if he would make a similar statement against religious head of any other religion; chance are he may not."
Nationalist Congress Party spokesman D. P. Tripathi said "Where is the need of asking for evidence on the existence of Ram when lots of people have unreserved faith in him?"
Connections With LTTE
The Interim report of Justice Jain Commission which oversaw the investigation into Rajiv Gandhi's assassination indicted Karunanidhi for abetting the LTTE. He supports LTTE currently. The interim report, recommended that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and the DMK party be held responsible for abetting Rajiv Gandhi's murderers. The final report contained no such allegations external link .
In April 2009, Karunanidhi made a controversial remark that "...Prabhakaran is my good friend...". and also said "India could not forgive the LTTE for assassinating Rajiv Gandhi"
Allegations Of Nepotism
Karunanidhi has been accused by opponents, many of his party members and some political observers of trying to promote nepotism and start a political dynasty along the lines of the Nehru-Gandhi family. Vaiko who quit the DMK has been the most vocal. Political observers say that Vaiko was sidelined as he was seen as a threat to M.K. Stalin and other family members.
His nephew, the late Murasoli Maran was a Union Minister however it has been pointed out that he was in politics much before Karunanidhi became the Chief Minister in 1969. He was arrested several times including the Anti-Hindi agitations in 1965. He was asked to contest the by-election for South Madras in 1967 and the nomination papers were signed by Rajaji, Annadurai and Mohammed Ismail Quaid-e-Millath clearly showing that his political career did not raise only due to Karunanidhi.
Many political opponents and DMK Party senior leaders have been critical and perturbed about the rise of M.K. Stalin in the party. But some of the party men have pointed out that Stalin has come up on his own. He has faced a lot of hardship since 1975 when he was jailed under MISA was beaten up in jail so brutally during the Emergency that a fellow DMK Party prisoner died trying to save him. Stalin was a MLA in 1989 and 1996 when his father Karunanidhi was the Chief Minister but he was not inducted into the Cabinet. He contested and became Chennai's 44th mayor but the first directly elected Mayor in 1996. It was only in his 4th term as MLA has he been made a Minister in the Karunanidhi cabinet and his rise is slow but steady.
Karunanidhi has been accused of helping Murasoli Maran's son Kalanidhi Maran who runs Sun Network, India's second largest television network and according to Forbes, Kalanidhi is among India's Richest 20 with .9 Billion. external link . Again commentators say that he raised himself into the position on his own merit and even Karunanidhi's sons have achieved nothing compared to him which has been a cause of friction between them. His channels have been the mouth organ of the DMK party until recent time and balanced the Jaya TV of the AIADMK.
Another son of Maran's, Dayanidhi Maran is a former Union Minister for Communications & IT portfolio, not broadcasting ministry, which is responsible for TV networks. It is a well known and often-argued fact that Dayanidhi Maran has been thrown out of his IT and Communications portfolio at Center he was a Union Minister for IT and Communications because the Dinakaran Newspaper run by the Maran brothers has shown M.K. Stalin of having the possibility to be the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu which created a bloody violence in the Madurai branch of Dinakaran office carried out by M.K. Azhagiri, causing the death of three employees. This is again seen as a result of the Dynasty-Controversy in Karunanidhi's family.
It has been pointed out that Karunanidhi has hesitated to take action against his erring family members, though he has expelled his other sons M.K. Muthu and M.K. Azhagiri when they were guilty of wrong doing and similarly removed Dayanidhi Maran from the position of Union Minister because of the reason stated in the previous paragraph.
Of late, he has been accused of not taking action against M.K. Azhagiri after his supporters attacked the newspaper office of Dinakaran killing 3 people as stated above. M.K. Azhagiri is the prime accused in the murder case of the former DMK Minister
Kiruttinan. Karunanidhi is also accused of allowing Azhagiri to function as an extra constitutional authority in Madurai through he has never held a party post and is a liability to the party and not yet expelled from the party
The Dinakaran newspaper case was handed over to the CBI. But, the District and Sessions court acquitted all the 17 accused in that case. So far, the case has not been appealed in a higher court to identify and punish the perpetrators of the crime.
Further, his daughter Kanimozhi has been nominated for a Rajya Sabha post even though she has done very little for the party as pointed out by critics and many of his party members.

கிரிக்கெட்டிலும் வருகிறது ரெட் கார்டு முறை
உலகில் கிரிக்கெட்டைத் தவிர பெரும்பாலான போட்டிகளில் ரெட் கார்டு, மஞ்சள் கார்டு போன்றவை உள்ளது. குறிப்பாக கால்பந்தில் ஒரு வீரர் தகாத முறையில் (தாக்குதல் ஆட்டம், வேண்டும்மென்றே எதிரணி வீரரை கிழே தள்ளிவிடுதல்) ஈடுபடும்போது மஞ்சள் கார்டு அளித்து எச்சரிக்கை படுத்தப்படுவார். மோசமான தடுப்பு ஆட்டத்தில் ஈடுபடுவர்களுக்கு நடுவர் உடனடியாக ரெட் கார்டு காண்பித்து வெளியே அனுப்பிவிடுவார்.
தற்போது கிரிக்கெட்டில் இருவர் மைதானத்திற்குள் மோதிக்கொண்டால், மைதான நடுவர் ஐ.சி.சி.யிடம் புகார் அளிப்பார்கள். அவர்கள் இருவரையும் அழைத்து விசாரணை நடத்தி தண்டனை அளிப்பார்கள். இதனால் ஒருவர் செய்த தவறுக்கு சில நாட்கள் கழித்துதான் தண்டனை கிடைக்கும்.
இதனால் உடனடியாக நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கும் கிரிக்கெட்டிலும் ரெட் கார்டு முறையை அறிமுகப்படுத்த இங்கிலாந்தின் முன்னணி கிரிக்கெட் கிளப்பான மேரிலேபோன் கிரிக்கெட் கிளப் முடிவு செய்துள்ளது.
இங்கிலாந்தில் கடந்த 2016-ம் ஆண்டு மட்டும் கிளப் அணிகளுக்கான தொடரில் ஐந்து போட்டிகள் வன்முறை காரணமாக கைவிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதனால் கார்டு முறை அறிமுகப்படுத்தினால் வீரர்களின் மோசமான நடவடிக்கை குறையும் என எதிர்பார்க்க படுகிறது. மோசமான செயல்களில் ஈடுபடும் வீரர்கள் மைதானத்தில் இருந்து வெளியேற்றப்படுவார். இல்லையெனில் 10 ஓவர்கள் விளையாட முடியாமல் போகலாம்.
மிரட்டுதல் போன்ற நடவடிக்கை, இனவாத கருத்து மற்றும் வேகப்ந்து மூலம் பேட்ஸ்மேன்களை தாக்குதல் ஆகிய மூன்று நடவடிக்கைகளுக்கு கார்டு மூலம் தண்டனை வழங்க முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த மூன்று பிரிவிற்கும் குறைவான செயலில் ஈடுபட்டால் ஐந்து ரன்கள் குறைக்கப்படும்.

Filled with the wrong fuel in your Car?
What to do if you put diesel in a petrol car or petrol in a diesel car?
This problem is more common than you would think. What with modern diesel engines being quite silent and some older petrol engines sounding like diesels? Many cars these days don’t even have many external badges to distinguish them and the poor fuel pump attendants often make mistakes.
There are plenty horror stories of how car engines can get totally wrecked because of the wrong fuel choice. Imagine this: You are in a hurry, you pull in at a fuel station, ask for Rs. 500 worth of fuel not specifying what you want and then dash off only to realize that the fuel filled was the wrong one. What do you do?

Modern diesel engines are really sensitive to fuel quality and putting petrol in a diesel car can ruin a lot of things quite quickly. Similarly, high precision petrol engines will choke up if fed a diet of diesel. If you realize your mistake soon enough, you can bring things under control. Here’s how:
Symptoms of diesel in a petrol car
What can go wrong if you put diesel in a petrol car? Diesel is a heavier fuel than petrol and also more oily. The first part that gets affected is the fuel filter, which will tend to clog up quite quickly as diesel is relatively more oily. That itself should begin to make your car stutter and stall. The second part to get affected would be the spark plugs, which will foul up with soot build up because of the diesel mixed with petrol. Your car will emit lots of white smoke as well and lose power before it stalls completely.
Symptoms of petrol in a diesel car
Diesel engines though are not as forgiving as petrol engines. Putting petrol in a diesel car can lead to even more expensive damage, because in diesel engines, there are parts like the fuel injection pump that depend on the diesel’s lubrication properties to run smoothly. And then there are rubber seals that don’t like the high cleaning, drying properties of petrol as well. However, for a diesel engine to even begin to start showing signs of wrong fuel, it takes quite a while. Initially, there is black smoke due to unburnt fuel, then sluggishness and stalling. It will refuse to start after that.
What to do if you’ve put in the wrong fuel?
The first thing you should do if you’ve realized that you’ve put in the wrong fuel is not run the car. Next disconnect the main fuel line from the engine to the tank. If you can access the tank using a hose through the filler cap, do that and syphon off as much fuel as possible. Drain the rest through the main fuel line. You will need to get a mechanic to do this for you.
Crank the engine a few times by turning the key to pump out any remaining fuel. Let the fuel drain out of the main fuel line as the engine cranks (it won’t start). Then fill in about two litres of the proper fuel and crank the engine to clean up the lines, before connecting the fuel line back. Then top-up the tank using the correct fuel and add an additive to clean the injectors.
In a petrol car you will need to change the fuel filter and clean the spark plugs. With a diesel vehicle, open the drain plug at the bottom of the filter and drain out any fuel in the filter as well. Then prime the vehicle using the manual diesel pump and start it.
